  • Although racing is the career I have chosen, I am interested in marketing and business management. While I was a member of DECA I received an award for designing the International pin for the club. I will be continuing my education by completing on line college courses in these areas.
  • I was born into racing. My grandfather, Tom, owned sprint cars before I was born. At age 3, I raced around on a battery-powered 4-wheeler. By age 4, I was hanging around the race shop, offering to help and asking a lot of questions. At age 5, I went to Texas with my grandparents to attend the World of Outlaws annual awards banquet. For my 6th birthday, I received a yard go-kart. I was warned to slow down because the grass was wet, but I wanted to get the feel of it; I went faster each lap around the yard. Finally, I got sideways and slammed into a tree! The only injury I received was from my mom, who ran out and snatched me out of the go-kart and took me inside. My dad and grandfather were in a lot of trouble. The go-kart suffered a bent axle. If they only would have known - this was the first of many bent axles! In 1992, my dad, Kevin, started me in go-karts, serving as my crew, coach and mentor. That's how I got started in racing.
  • Growing up around a World of Outlaw's team was a lot of fun. Even though I might have pestered the crew members, they still let me stick around and help out. I grew up around such drivers as Joe Gaerte, Jeff Swindell, Greg Hodnett, Dale Blaney and Bobby Davis Jr., and crew members such as Scott Benic, Robert Hobbard, Rob Hart and Glenn Stewart. I just thank these men for letting me hang around. They could have refused to answer me and chased me away, but they always responded to my questions and let me help out and clean equipment. Thinking about it now, as a race car driver, I really appreciate the time they spent with me. I also remember all of the nights I snuck into the pits and sat on the trailer and watched - I can remember it as if it were yesterday. As for the track security guards - sometimes they found me and sometimes they didn't.

  • Go-karts 1991-1999:   My father started me in go-karts. We had gone to the track to watch a friend compete and I told him I wanted to race, too, so we bought a go-kart.  I acquired in track championships at Fairgrounds Speedway Richmond, IN; Akron Speedway in Akron, IN; Dora Speedway in Dora, IN; and Windfall Speedway Windfall, IN, where I started racing when I was 5 years old. My father and I took the go-kart to the track in the back of a pickup for every race. The team consisted only of me and my father, Kevin Wimmer, who acted as my crew chief. We raced at least twice every week - and I tallied 68 wins .
  • Mini-sprints 2000-2001:   600 Multi Class: I was named the National Micro Midget Association (NMMA) Rookie of the Year at Camden Speedway in Camden, IN, and Miami County Speedway in Peru, IN, and was the Track Champion at Camden in 2000 and at Peru in 2001. Also in 2001, I finished 10th in the NMMA national championship. Later, I won the Kentucky State Championship. My father and I worked on the car, and my grandfather attended every race. I scored 9 wins in the two years.
  • 410 sprint cars 2002-current:    I drive for my grandfather, Tom Wimmer, Two Winners Racing Inc., with the help of my father and family. Before the 2002 season, I went to Smiley Sittons Driving School; it helped a lot. We ran 43 races in 12 different states with the World of Outlaws Gumout series, Great Lakes Outlaw Sprint Series (GLOSS) and The World of Outlaws. My first ever sprint car race as a driver was at Talladega with the World of Outlaws. I was named 2002 GLOSS Rookie Of The Year, 2002 National Winged 410 sprint Rookie Of The Year , made the Historical Big One at Eldora Speedway, and competed in the 2002 Sprint Car Nationals in Knoxville, IA. In 2003, we ran with the World of Outlaws, GLOSS and the All-Star Circuit of Champions. We won our first feature at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, OH, and got our second feature win in a GLOSS race at the Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, IN. We ran with the World of Outlaws for most of the summer of 2003, then ran exclusively the World of Outlaws Tour in 2004. Our schedule was limited to summer and long weekends due to my attendance at high school. We started 2004 with the first ever international World of Outlaws race at Parammatta Speedway in Sidney, Australia. During 2004, we set a new track record at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL, and qualified for the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway. With the support of family, school administrators and teachers, I have committed to run the full World of Outlaws tour in 2005. Again this year, we started the season in Australia; this time I took along a tutor, who kept me on track with my school work. Graduation is June 4 th , the same night we race Eldora. While my classmates are walking to the podium to receive their diplomas, I will be racing around Tony Stewart's famed high bank, half-mile fast track at Eldora. I have a lot of respect for the more experienced drivers in this competition and I learn from them both on and off the track.
